Iron is an element that has been around for ages. Both abundant and easy to work, iron has been a natural choice for outdoor furniture and the earliest iron furnishings in private gardens coincided with the designs used in public parks. Many early garden designs are still replicated in modern ways today. Like this pair of antique cast iron garden benches in the Versaille design, many garden benches take their cue from indoor furnishings.
