This antique cast iron grapevine garden bench is attributed to
John McLean, who was a New York machinist and metal worker from the mid 1800s through the turn of the century. Currently, there is a match of this bench in the Smithsonian Garden Collection.
The survival of the delicate apron (or curtain-style) front is rare and makes this well patinated piece more desirable.
